Dear Summer School participants,
The preparation for the Summer School is almost ready and I would like to give you some information.
Poster
We would like to let you know that on Wednesday (day 2) of the Summer School, there will be a poster session. It would be great if you could bring posters of new research, a poster of your past research (last year), case reports, and case studies. You do not need to make the new ones (but if you want you can also present new data), just bring the work you presented at the past congresses and share it again! There is only one condition: the posters have to deal with endocrinology!
Do not hesitate to get in touch with us (summerschool@esve.org) if you need additional information. We would appreciate it very much if you would let us know the title of your poster, so we can arrange the proper room for viewing.
Course
We have reached the maximum number of 150 participants and therefore we had to close the registrations. We are sorry but more attendees are not possible. The lectures will take place in Aula Magna “Messieri”, the principal lecture room of the Vet School in Bologna. It’s quite a nice and comfortable “traditional” lecture room equipped with plugs for laptops.
Lunch and coffee break
Due to the generosity of the Sponsors (MSD, Dechra, Purina, Royal Canine Canin, and Boehringer Ingelheim) the coffee breaks and the lunches are included. The organization decided to use a catering service directly in the seat of the Course.
The catering service will provide a coffee station for the morning and afternoon coffee breaks, and lunch.
The lunch will be served on the ground floor and in the internal courtyard of the Vet School. People can rest a little bit outside using chairs and tables, or directly on the grass. In this way, we think you can taste good Italian food in a very easy way, avoiding losing time to find out a place to eat during the lunch break. There will be a special menu for vegetarians, vegans and people with allergies or intolerances.
COVID
Fortunately, the restrictions related to covid are less and less. In Italy the vaccination certificate is no longer required to enter hotels, restaurants or even the classroom where the Summer School will be held. Indoor masks are still mandatory but this obligation will most likely be removed in June. We will keep you updated on this aspect.
Accommodation
Unfortunately, the PHI HOTEL EMILIA which is located near the vet school (venue of the Summer School), is now fully booked.
For those who still have to book, we recommend this other hotel https://www.hotelrelaisbellaria.com/en. The Relais Bellaria hotel is a few kilometers away from the Vet School, but it is very nice and we will do our best to organize buses to and from the Summer School venue. If you book at this hotel, please mention during the reservation that you will attend the ESVE Summer School, and you will receive a discount.
Social Events
we will have several opportunities to meet together. They represent a fantastic opportunity for people to know each other and you are strongly encouraged to participate!
The social events are free of charge for the participants (including drinks!). For organizational reasons, we will ask you in the coming weeks to fill out a quick form just to have the gross number of people attending.
Specifically:
On Sunday 3rd July there will be a welcome cocktail (drink and food) at the pool very close (walking distance) to the Vet School (you will receive more details about it) .
The Summer School dinner will take place in the garden of the Vet School on the evening of Tuesday 5 th July. There will be obviously music and the possibility to sing and dance!
On Wednesday, July 6th: Free day TRAVEL to VENICE. We will take you by bus to Venice (the journey takes about an hour and a half). Everyone will be free to organize the day in Venice as they wish. In the coming weeks, we will be giving you more information about this tour.
I realize it’s already a very long email. I will be back to you with some more details in the next weeks.
Best regards
Federico Fracassi
