Roberta Troia

Junior Researcher at the Department of Veterinary Sciences, University of Bologna

She achieved the Degree in Veterinary Medicine (vote 110/110 cum laude) in October 2011. In 2012 she experienced a six-month period of research and clinical practice at the Department of Emergency and Intensive Care Unit at the School of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia, USA), with Prof. C. M. Otto as a Tutor.

 

Since 2013 she has worked as clinician at the Emergency Service of the Veterinary University Hospital of Bologna. From 2014 to 2017 she did a PhD in Veterinary Critical Care Medicine at the University of Bologna with Prof. Massimo Giunti as a Tutor. The PhD project, entitled "Biomarkers of Sepsis and Multiorgan Dysfunction Syndrome in critically ill dogs and cats", included a period of research and clinical experience at the Department of Emergency and Intensive Care Unit of the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine (Ithaca, NY), under the supervision of Prof. Robert Goggs.

 

She obtained the Diploma of the European College of Veterinary Critical Care in September 2019.

 

She works as a Junior Researcher at the University of Bologna from August 2020. Her main research and clincal activities focus on sepsis, trauma and acute kidney injury in dogs and cats.
