Barbara Skelly graduated as a Veterinary Surgeon from University of Cambridge, then did a PhD in molecular genetics at the University of Cambridge in collaboration with the Great Ormond St Institute of Child Health, UCL. She undertook a post-doctoral position in clinical genetics at the University of Pennsylvania before coming back to the UK to take up a Senior Clinical Training position at the Royal Veterinary College.
Following this training Barbara became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine and subsequently a European Veterinary Specialist in Small Animal Medicine.
She is based in the Department of Veterinary Medicine and Queen’s Veterinary School Hospital where she is now an Associate Professor and participates in teaching, clinical and clinical research work.
