Dr. Francesca Del Baldo graduated in Veterinary Medicine with a score of 110/110 cum laude from the University of Bologna in 2014.
From 2015 to 2016, sSe completed a Rotational Internship in Internal Medicine at the Department of Veterinary Medical Sciences (DIMEVET), University of Bologna. In 2016, She began her PhD under the supervision of Prof. Fracassi. Her primary research focus is internal medicine, particularly small animal endocrinology and gastroenterology. She completed her PhD in October 2019 with a thesis entitled "Diabetes Mellitus in Dogs: Therapy, Monitoring, and Prognostic Aspects."
In 2018, she started her Residency in Internal Medicine for the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine – Companion Animals (ECVIM-CA). In 2022, she earned the title of European Veterinary Specialist in Small Animal Internal Medicine.
She is the vice-president of the European Society of Veterinary Endocrinology and of the Italian Society of Veterinary Internal Medicine.
Dr. Del Baldo is the author and co-author of scientific publications in national and international journals.
She is an invited speaker at various national and international courses on Small Animal Internal Medicine, with a focus on Endocrinology and Gastroenterology. Currently, she is an assistant professor at the Department of Veterinary Medical Sciences, University of Bologna, where she is helding also the position of Head of Internal Medicine at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital. In this role, she is responsible for overseeing the internal medicine department, managing clinical cases, supervising medical staff, and coordinating patient care.
