Miguel Campos studied at the University of Lisbon, graduating as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine with distinction in 2005. He then completed a one-year rotating internship at the Frégis Veterinary Hospital Center in France.
From 2006 to 2010 he completed his residency in small animal internal medicine at the University of Ghent, becoming an ECVIM-CA diplomate (Internal Medicine) in 2010. Continuing his research, he completed a PhD on "Pathogenesis and Treatment of Canine Thyroid Tumours". After his PhD, Miguel lectured for two years at the Alfort Veterinary School in Paris and then worked as a clinical instructor and lecturer at the University of Bern between 2016 and 2022.
Miguel is currently working as an Internal Medicine specialist at the AniCura Medical Center for Animals in Amsterdam and his main research focus remains endocrinology and thyroid disease.
