The definitions and criteria set by the ALIVE project aim to provide a helping guide towards investigation, study, education, diagnosis and treatment of endocrine conditions. None of the definitions and criteria replace the responsibility of the attending clinician to ensure appropriate care is provided to patients under their care according to local legislation. At all times clinicians should verify the accuracy of the suggested guidelines, particularly, ensuring these are relevant and still up to date at the time of reading. ESVE and SCE also cannot take any responsibility over any of the possible consequences of adopting the suggested definitions and criteria in the management of clinical cases. This responsibility remains with the attending clinician.
